Fire dragon in action

When the dragon dances, it rocks!
Held by a single man, the dragon head moved around quite swiftly, while the body part, held by about 20 guys, followed in co-ordinated movements and pace. Here, the dragon was bowing to the crowds. See yesterday's post and link for more photos. I borrow this shot by my friend SiuSiu who has quite a few good shots of this colorful ritual. For more photos, click this link to visit SiuSiu's photo gallery. (The gallery interface is in Chinese -- click on the first photo and then click the ►► (double triangle) on the right, it will take you to the next photo.)

A fine book usually becomes a movie, with an enticing trialer of course. Your photos and those of Siu Siu of the dragon dance are like a fine trailer, I've gotta go see the movie! Thanks for sharing these great images and info.

That is so fantastic Lisi. I love the look on the girls face with the twirling lines right next to her as she shrugs away. Best shot I've seen for a few days.. SUPERB!

I wanted to thank you for joining Fanpop and adding your amazing photo blog to the site! It's a really nice addition and I hope that more people will find your photos through it. I wanted to personally welcome you, but also encourage you to make sure that on top of adding your photo blogs to the Daily Photo Spot, to make sure you add them to their relevant country or city spots as well. Michael has already set a great example!

Fanpop is all about having people who are passionate about different interests help to find the best content on the web for each of those topics and finding community with others who share those passions. By adding your brilliant photos to their country or city spots, you help others who love that country or city to find them. Here are just a few examples:

San Francisco

And if you don't see your favorite country or city represented, then create a new spot for it! And make sure you add other links that you find useful for that local country. And invite others who share your passion for those places to join as well! Fanpop is all about community building and collaboration, so it's not meant to be done alone...just like all you Daily Photo bloggers coming together! And I'm sure you'll find other interesting content on there as well. Let others know who you are and join a few spots and add some of your favorite local websites! Be careful can be addictive!

Looking forward to seeing you all there. And keep on shooting those magnificent photos around the world! :)

Thank you all for your generous compliments and I'm sure SiuSiu will appreciate them very much.

I had a very nice Festival with family dinner, gathering with friends, a barbeque and this exciting fire dragon dance. This is my favorite festivals among all Chinese festivals.
