I want to show a wider view of the city today, so here's a photo I took at the Aberdeen praya promenade. Aberdeen is a town in the southern part of the HK island and it is home to the local fishing industry, as you can see there's a line-up of red stern trawlers. The bridge is one which links Aberdeen to Ap Lei Chau (another island). Link: an interesting website on HK's fishing industry. Labels: city, Hong Kong |

Hey, finally i see a photo cliche from your blog ;) fishing boats !! that honkgong a mixed of traditional and modern...
Have a nice Sunday!
ã
LOL Michelle, I suppose these stern trawlers are more of the "hi-tech" fishing boats comparing with those in postcards. And about cliche, I still consider my May 18th post titled "The Signs" the winner of HK cliche. What do you think? ;p
ã
Oh those 'signs'... right that is not only cliche but i think that IS hongkong ;)
Perhaps next time you should take a photo of the typhoon shelter in Causeway Bay by the way i have one of those postcards on my desk :D
good day!

Excellent - a great scene. It looks like a busy and bustling little port.
ã
Terrific photo but I always thought Aberdeen was in north east Scotland (where the weather's never that good)
ã
I'm surprised you did not get more footprints on this photo - its a great photo with the mountains and building mixed in
