Moonlight in Hong Kong

We don't have a beautiful song like "Moonlight in Vermont" to go with this but I think the moon, the crane and the top of a building rightly represent a mellow moment in hectic city life, or maybe "Beauty and the Beast" can be the theme song for this photo.
I went to Central and took some night shots yesterday, just to practise and to get a special photo for my birthday today ;-)

Happy Birthday Lisi ... How do you get such a large moon in your photo? Was the crane a good distance from you when your took the photo? I am told it has to do with perspective and the moon looks largest when it is closest to the horizon. But in my night photos the moon always seems small.

And how the heck do you take such an amazing shot of the moon??? Mines comes out as a white big glob of a circle without the different tones

Like Edwin of Kuala Lumpur Daily Photo said in this blog, modesty is not in a Leo's vocabulary. ;-) Thank you for all your good wishes, from the two anonymous to frequent commenters and infrequent commenters. I've had a good day going to a spa with my best friend and persist with attending class in the evening.

It is a great pleasure to know you cyberlly, and grow and learn photography with your comments. I've really enjoy working on this blog and thank you all for the encouragement and friendship.

To answer Kala, I've taken some 20 photos of the moon on Tuesday night testing with different settings. This one is taken with 1/34 shutter speed, F/6.5, ISO400 and I guess using spot metering is what made it works. Do try with your camera and show us the moon from you city.

Happy Belated BD Lisi! I agree...great shot of the big ball of cheese! Sure wish I had a SLR digital...could do so much more adjusting of the settings...oh well, maybe for my BD, which isn't until next April! :-)
