OK, this is the last one on bamboos...... for the time being ;-) This is a display at an exhibition and I just want to show you some Chinese bamboo furniture. It is not really popular in HK and is probably a thing of the older days; but the game you see here, ie, Mahjong, is eternal to most Chinese. I like the game though I don't play often (the last time was a year ago in San Diego)! PS. Thanks to those who had asked, the typhoon brought no major damage to HK!

As a kid I loved playing Mahjong, its a really addictive game:)
ã
surpirse surprise! Mark do you still remember how to play? When was the last time you play?
ã
I love to learn. Wasn't there a book (and a movie)about it?
Lisi, for some reason the loading of your page takes a loooong time and i can only see today's picture. That's really a shame coz i have been away for some weeks and wanted to catch up on Hong Kong :)
ã
No, I was too hasty.
When i scroll all the way down i can see the other pictures. There is a huge gap between today and the days before.
Thought you'd wanted to know.
ã
Dutchie, thanks for letting me know......does anybody else have problem seeing the photos?
ã
I have set my screen resolution to 1024 x 768 and maximized the window size: lisi's blog shows perfectly.
lisi, thank you for sizing your portrait photographs so they are displayed properly with the above resolution. By properly, I mean that I do not have to scroll to see the full portrait picture. In some other DP sites, I have to scroll or open the photograph is a new window to see the full picture. I hope this comment helps!
Thanks for your great blog - Brian.

Hi Lisi:
That furniture ie really nice, but I understand wants something "modern" in their living room or dinning room. I think natural stuff never lose style.
Mahjong looks like domino :)
Greetings from Perú

ã
I was at a restaurant this evening and saw a bamboo tree. Imediately I thought of you!
ã
Brian, thanks!
Ed, will you also think of me when you see lotus? ;-)
ã
No, when I see Zidane. Nearly everyday in the sports section of the papers ;)
ã
ah wow - this brings back memories - when I was little, I recall people playing this at this house of my parents friends that we used to visit and they had this mahjong things so I used to play dominos with them because i didnt know how to play the game - bamboo is such an amazing material!
ã
Lisi,
About twenty years ago.
ã
Bamboo is such a versatile strong natural material. Yes I too loved Mah jong as a child. I must soon learn again and teach my own kids.
ã
great capture.
ã
mmm...it's exciting to know that Mark plays Mahjong, wouldn't it be nice to play Mahjong in South of France when I travel there? And John as well...one more potential player ;-)
Thanks everyone for dropping by. If you have problem with loading the photos like Dutchi did, please let me.
;-)
ã
I've never seen bamboo furniture like this! Wish we had it here . . . I absolutely love it!
