We do barbeque quite differently in HK, instead of using a grill and putting food on it, we use a 2-tine fork/skewer to grill our choice of food individually. It takes longer than western barbeque but we get to hang around with each other longer and everybody gets the chance to show off their skill (or no skill). As you can see from this (not so nice) photo, we wrapped some sweet potatoes and corns to be cooked by the fire as well. How do you do barbeque in your city?

BBQ or Asado in Argentina is a big part of the culture. If weather allows, friends gathering usually means making an asado. It takes time, since the're not just cooking burgers, but big chunck of meats, chorizo, blood sausages (delicious by the way)- so it takes about 2 full hours up from setting up the fire to actually eat the meat. It is a huge cultural thing here, and I have to admit, the best BBQs are Argentinians :)

I haven't been to a BBQ for a long time. Similar to karine here but probably on a smaller scale

This looks fantastic Lisi. I think I'll have a BBQ tomorrow night.

I hope you did not BBQ on your balcony. It would be much safer in the park or a friends back yard. Also, it is interesting that there appears to be multiple grills. I guess so more friends can visit as they cook.

Yeah it's the time you spend with friends that matter more rather than the act of grilling itself. Beautiful shot Lisi!

This looks much more fun than then how it is done here. I find that BBQ is a "man's job" and that the men "work alone" and take a lot of pride in their "products".
