Pollution and fog

We have unboard and are standing at the waterfront, looking back to the Hong Kong island. In my April 10th post I described the International Finance Centre as "ugly" and maybe this photo can explain why I think so, it kind of spoils the skyline...Another thing is that it is very hazy, partly because April is usually humid and foggy, but largely because HK is very polluted now.

Thanks to Nicola for sending this post.

i see what you mean with the Finance Centre, but somehow it looks nice, because it stand out from the rest of the building.

The fog and pollution even adds some mystery to it in this photo. Seems like a quiet day, there are not many ships out there.

Yes, I see what you mean. It's really out of scale with the rest of the skyline. i hope that's more the fog than the pollution. Nice image of the city and harbor.

Pollution is slowly creeping in to most major cities of the world...same here in Manila. We really have to think how to resolve this or we will be breathing ourselves to death in the near future :(

Hi all, the pollution just got worse these few years, partly of the industrial development in nearby mainland Chinese cities and partly because of the power plants in HK itself...
