At one glance, I thought the goldfishes were paper lanterns. They are in fact made of some sort of paper art (the body of the fishes). I can't figure out what they are called in English or even Chinese but they bring back some lovely memories. We used to have crafty toys made of small colorful straps of this paper art but like most traditional toys, they are not made anymore.Labels: city, Hong Kong |

Lovely colours!

Very nice! Are those little bells they have underneath them? Or maybe a good luck sign?
ã
Karine, I think they are both decorative and for luck
Nicola, that one is a good luck sign...with the price tag on it ;-)
And Eric, I still don't know what do peopole call that kind of beehive shape paper, maybe it doesn't have a proper name.
